After a week of competition, the Brussels CUP powered by ING has crowned its first champion: Epsilon Mence. However, his path to win this first edition of the FIFA 18 Tournament wasn’t that easy. He faced many talented players, here is a recap of this amazing competition.
Coming, from the Saturday group stage. Mence successfully went through this first stage of the competition and finished his first day without a single loss. In the other group, there were very few surprises, all the major contenders successfully reached the playoff stage. After a long day of competition, everybody went back to their hotel to rest a bit except for the bravest ones who decided to make their FUT Champions WL in our gaming centre!
The Sunday championship started with the introduction into the player pool of some of the most famous European players representing Professional Football Clubs. We were playing at another level. This last day of competition started with a group stage, some of the pools were so tough that it was hard to find just one group of death!
However, most of the best European players really showed up in the group stage to reach the final bracket of this competition. This is where we started to see the first surprises in this tournament. Danny Hazebroek from FC Utrecht had an amazing run though the playoff bracket. He eliminated Tim Latka from Schalke 04 and Chnewar. On the opposite side, Epsilon Mence did the same by beating Ayziq and Emperator. The player from RCS Anderlercht was on good form yesterday as he beat Rafsou from Olympique Lyonnais. This is how those two players came to face each other during the final of this Brussels CUP powered by ING. It was an unexpected final and the players could have been excused for feeling nervous.
It seems that Epsilon Mence dealt quite well with the pressure as he won quite comfortably the final against Danny Hazebroek (4-1). It means also it is the end of this first edition of the Brussels CUP powered by ING. We would like to thank all the players who have been involved in this FIFA 18 tournament. Thanks for trusting us. We would like to thank also EA for allowing us to organize this FIFA tournament and finally, we would like to thank all our partners who have supported us, especially ING.
